The Dablam

The mountain has a hanging glacier near the summit that is thought to resemble a 'Dablam' - a special pendant worn by sherpa mothers (Ama) to hold precious items. Every year the 'Dablam' changes in appearance, and therefore in apparent danger. We will climb two pitches of dramatic and very steep ice to the side of the 'Dablam' to reach one of the world's finest summits. Although technically straightforward, the altitude and steep angle will make it feel harder. This will be a time to grit our teeth and keep on moving upwards…
