Base Camp (4,570 meters)
Ama Dablam is in the Khumbu valley in the heart of the Sherpa area of Nepal, and is considered by many to be the most famous rock-ice-snow climb in all of Asia. We will fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2800 meters) and then begin the seven day treck to Base Camp. This will allow plenty of time to acclimatise to the elevated altitude of the high mountains. Base Camp itself is in an idyllic spot from which the majority of the route is visible; and at an altitude of about 4,570m it will provide a comfortable escape from the rigours of the climb.
